Alberta Distillers Limited was built in 1946 and based its philosophy on the fact that folks deserved a quality product at a reasonable price. Those founding craftsmen were daring enough to believe that 100% rye whisky was worth making—decades before anyone else. Their dedication to making 100% rye sets them apart from all but a handful of distilleries in North America.
Rare Batch No. 1 is the first in a special series offering the best casks in the AD warehouse. First barreled at the turn of the millennium in 2000 and aged for 23 long years, this rare whisky's resting time has finally come to an end.
Nose: Oak spices with hints of pear.
Palate: 75% dark chocolate nibs, cherry Twizzlers and Werther's caramels.
Finish: Medium length with lingering sweetness.
