A superbly blended single barrel, small-batch cask strength expression from the Green Brier Distillery in Tennessee. Ranked one of the top 20 Whiskies last year by Whiskey Advocate, Belle Meade Cask Strength is made from spirits originally produced by MGP, aged blended and bottled in small batches by Green Brier Distillery in Tennessee. Only seven barrels at a time are blended together to make this expression, which is not chill-filtered. A high rye content in the mash bill lends dry cereal spice, but we also found notes of cinnamon candy, chocolate caramels, and apple pie. There is plenty of heat to support the sweeter notes here, making a truly satisfying dram.
