Distillery exclusive Blair Athol batch 02 release. This special and rarely seen whisky is a vatting of ex-wine barriques and heavily charred American oak casks. Bottled in 2023 at a great strength of 48% abv.
Appealing to whisky enthusiast in search of individual quality. There's a well integrated oily mouthfeel with a spice lead and fruity style. Citrus, dried fruit and nutty aromas follow through on the palate with the addition of red fruits, cinnamon and oak notes. The finish is medium to long with notes of ginger spice and burnt toffee.
This is a unique expression with bags of character that also has a collectable appeal.
