Blue Run Spirits was founded with the ideal of creating a super-premium bourbon that tastes so rich and smooth that it would entice a new generation of enthusiasts and satisfy the most discerning aficionados.
From an inventory of over 5,000 barrels, Blue Run's Head blender sought out older bourbon stocks that clearly exhibited elevated mid-note flavours. This allowed the Blue Run Reflection II expression to spotlight the brighter middle notes, including the fresh and dry profile of florals. This was in stark contrast to its predecessor, Reflection I, which focused on darker base notes like oak and caramel.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: A bright bouquet of warm spices and rich cocoa immediately dominates the olfactory senses and serves as a precursor to an exhilarating experience.
Palate: The first sip reveals bountiful orange peel that harmonises with farm-fresh honey, followed by fresh toasted oak and tantalising salted caramel blondies, as the palate remains preoccupied with the mid-note flavour sensations.
Finish: A complex finish is led by spicy citrus oils that evolve into barrel spice and churros sprinkled with powdered sugar and a dash of cayenne.
