Boulder Bank Sauvignon Blanc

This is the second production of the Boulder Bank series of wines. Twenty-five year veteran winemaker, Nick Goldschmidt, has created this product to showcase New Zealand's preeminent varietal - Sauvignon Blanc. Having made wine worldwide for many years, Nick has now returned to his New Zealand roots to create Boulder Bank. Situated on the banks of the Opawa River, the Dillon's Point Vineyard is truly unique for growing Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Gentle afternoon breezes and cool night temperatures make this site a very desireable growing location, but the most notable feature is in its elevation: the Dillon's Point Vineyard lies below sea level. The high saline content of the soil produces a wine with a distinctive mineral profile, so highly sought after in Sauvignon Blancs. Passionfruit, grapefruit and notes of freshly cut pepper also define this wine. Pairs well with seafood and poultry including citrus and vinaigrette sauces.
