Bushmills Rare Casks 30 Year Old Limited Release No. 03 Irish Whiskey

Presenting Limited Release No. 03 from Bushmills' "The Rare Casks" series - a collection of the world's most extraordinary single malt whiskeys. Aged in hand-selected casks and released in limited quantities across the US, this collection is a whiskey connoisseur's dream.

The star of the series is the 30 Year Old Single Malt: Madeira Cask, the oldest entry thus far. The Madeira Cask adds a unique twist to the Rare Cask repertoire. The whiskey spends the majority of its maturation in three first-fill Madeira wine casks, following an initial aging period of just over 13 years in bourbon and sherry casks.

The Madeira wine's character, influenced by the subtropical and rugged terroir, marks an exciting new flavor territory. Non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength, the whiskey attains a balance and complexity of flavor that is unsurpassed. Lovers of Bushmills 21 Year Old's Madeira character, take note: This is the more complex and rare successor.

Characteristics:

Nose: A rich and complex bouquet of roasted walnuts, creme brulee, and baked peaches, mixed with sweet notes of hazelnut and orange marmalade.

Palate:  An intense, explosive palate with soft texture that reveals depth after each sip, beginning with fresh pralines and toffee, then revealing sweet and dark chocolate, orange peel, and molasses, and finishing luxuriously with vanilla bean and mocha.
