This expression is from the famed Benrinnes Distillery in the Spey region. Distilled in 2008, the whisky was matured in first-fill hogsheads (likely bourbon) for 12 years, before bottling in 2021. Total outturn: 736 bottles.
Nose: Honey, granola and warm-baked bread, Chinese custard tarts, toffee and toasted oak.
Palate: Chocolatey Nutella and stone fruits – nectarine, peach with a hint of fresh cut banana.
Finish: Warmed Christmas spices, fruit cake with butter cream sauce and nuttiness the finish.
