Don Q's Port Cask Finish comes from Silvia Santiago — with the distillery for 50 years and Puerto Rico's first female master blender — working alongside master blender Liza Cordero, released in February 2023 alongside a sibling Zinfandel Cask Finish. The base rum ages 5 to 8 years in American white oak, then spends an unusually long secondary maturation — over three years — resting in European Old Tawny Port wine casks, far longer than the typical finishing period, which is where the "double aged" name comes from.
