The thicker of the two silicone gasket options for E61 groups, made for worn groups or portafilters that lock in too far to the right with a standard-thickness gasket.

INSTALLATION

Remove the basket from the portafilter before installing to avoid tearing the silicone; don't force it with a sharp tool.

PRO TIPS

• If your portafilter has started locking in noticeably past 6 o'clock, reach for this 8.75 mm thick version rather than the standard 8 mm, it compensates for a worn group without machining or shimming.
• Silicone doesn't need to be cranked in tight like EPDM rubber, over-tightening won't improve the seal and just wears the group faster.
• Use a food-safe silicone lubricant such as food-safe white grease, never petroleum-based grease, which degrades silicone over time. When installing, never push the gasket in with a sharp screwdriver, it will tear; use the portafilter itself with the basket removed.
