Glendronach Ode to the Valley Highland Single Malt Scotch is our most alluring, fruit-filled expression within The Master’s Anthology. Matured in a combination of ruby port casks from the Douro Valley in Portugal, and our signature sherry casks, presenting notes of floral nectar with succulent ripe summer berries.

The GlenDronach distillery is nestled in the Valley of Forgue, near the town of Huntly in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This location, in the Highland region, is known for its rugged landscape and cool, temperate climate, which plays a crucial role in the whisky's maturation process. The slow and steady aging in this environment allows the whisky to develop a deep, complex character over time.

One of the key aspects of The GlenDronach's whisky-making process is its commitment to traditional methods. The distillery is famous for its use of sherry casks, predominantly Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, for aging its whiskies. These casks impart rich, fruity, and spicy notes to the spirit, contributing to its signature depth and complexity. The sherry casks are carefully selected and sourced directly from Spain, ensuring the highest quality and consistency.

The GlenDronach also employs copper pot stills, which are essential for the distillation process. These stills, combined with the distillery's traditional worm tub condensers, contribute to the whisky's full-bodied, robust character. The slow distillation process ensures a rich and heavy spirit, which interacts beautifully with the sherry casks during maturation.
