The perfect introduction to Gordon & MacPhail's portfolio, the Discovery range has been created to provide an introduction to single malt whiskies from some of Scotland’s most admired distilleries.
The massive (for its time) Glen Grant distillery was built in 1839 by brothers John and James Grant. Being sharp businessmen, they also understood that without proper transportation modes, such a large distillery would likely flounder. As a result, they were instrumental in bringing the railway from Lossiemouth to Elgin and personally paid for a spur line to their location in Rothes.
This expression, aged exclusively in bourbon barrels, showcases the essential Glen Grant DNA, which is light and fruit-forward.
Nose: Pineapple, zesty lemons, limes and crisp green apple.
Palate: Creamy texture, with lemon and lime from the nose and Bananas Foster on vanilla ice cream on the back palate.
Finish: Medium length and easy going — fruit hangs in and is joined by nutty toasted almonds.
