Taking its name from the Spanish word used to describe plots of vines in the Jerez region, Pagos was born around the idea of aging a Hampden rum entirely in prestigious 500-litre Sherry casks, used in the Solera method. This third edition of Pagos has been aged entirely in Jamaica in barrels from Bodegas Fundador.

Hampden Pagos is the fruit of partnerships created with two famous Bodegas in Jerez: Lustau and Fundador. Several casks have been transferred from the Andalusian cellars to those of Hampden Estate, to age the distillery’s rums. The first edition of Pagos was a blend of rums aged in ex-Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks from Lustau. This third batch of Hampden Pagos is the result of a blend of 16 casks from Bodegas Fundador that have previously contained Oloroso for up to thirty years, and have been filled with Hampden’s emblematic HLCF mark (Hampden Light Continental Flavored). This version has an ester content of 374.1 gr/HLPA. To enhance the perfect synergy between the Sherry and the high ester content of Hampden Estate, Pagos has been bottled at 52%.

NOSE
Rich and complex. The nose reveals notes of clove, toasted walnut, blood orange, apricot stone, and brandied cherry. As it opens up, almonds appear, followed by hints of dates, and a touch of coffee liqueur.

PALATE
Bold and lively. Cane sugar, chestnut honey, and tropical flowers notes dominate the palate. Vanilla and cocoa beans follow, adding subtle tannins. The aftertaste is marked by notes of camphor and geranium.

FINISH
Long and full. The finish is refreshed by coconut milk, and honeysuckle scents, along with notes of varnish. The aftertaste brings light tobacco notes, lime blossom, peppery rose, coriander, with lingering scents of walnuts and dried grapes.

52% ABV
