Harris' local distillers created this first gin offering from this island distillery in a small copper gin still ("The Dotach") which sits alongside the larger whisky-making stills in the Harris distillery's bright spirits hall.
The key local botanical is Sugar Kelp seaweed, gathered sustainably by hand from local sea-lochs, to express the island's unique maritime nature.
Sugar Kelp works in harmony with eight other careful chosen botanicals: Juniper, coriander seeds, cubebs, cassia bark, angelica root, bitter orange peel, orris root powder and liquorice root.
Juniper is predominant, followed by waves of citrus. Faint coastal breezes hang in the background.
