The origins of this distillery trace back to the 18th century when Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk settled near Pennsylvania's Blue Mountain Valley. Struggling to sell his abundant grain harvest, Shenk turned to distillation, ultimately establishing the first distilling company in the United States, Michter's. This celebrated whiskey undergoes a meticulous process, being a barrel strength bourbon that is aged in a second custom barrel made from air-dried wood, enhancing its rich flavors.
