Monkey Bite Espresso is the signature espresso blend served in every espresso beverage at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters cafés. Crafted from carefully selected African and South American coffees, this seasonal blend is sweet, layered, and expressive — a true representation of modern third-wave espresso.
Named after the unforgettable monkey encounter our founder Chuck experienced in Kenya, Monkey Bite has become a longtime favorite both in our cafés and online. Designed for versatility, it performs beautifully as straight espresso, brewed coffee, or paired with milk in drinks like cortados and lattes.
For espresso preparation, we recommend a 22-gram dose yielding approximately 24 grams in 27–34 seconds, with the first drops appearing around 10–12 seconds.
