Per-Group Precision, Built for the Bar

The Rocket Espresso R9 is a fully saturated multi-boiler 2-group commercial espresso machine built for specialty cafés and high-volume espresso bars that need true per-group temperature independence. Where most 2-group machines share a single brew boiler across both groups, the R9 gives each group its own dedicated 1.9L brew boiler and PID controller, making it the right machine for multi-roaster programs, high-volume teams, and venues where dialling in each group independently isn't a luxury; it's a requirement. Designed by Ennio Berti in Milan and built to the exacting standards Rocket is known for, the R9 is a proper working machine that also looks the part.

Rocket Espresso R9 Features

Independent 1.9L Brew Boiler Per Group
Each group head runs from its own dedicated 1.9L brew boiler, fully temperature-independent. Set different brew temperatures on each group simultaneously for different roasts, origins, or drink profiles without any interference between them.

Per-Group PID Controller (0.1°C Increments)
Individual PID temperature control on each group with 0.1°C adjustment precision, plus a dedicated shot timer and automatic control cluster per group. Two baristas can work their respective groups at the same time with no shared controls in the way.

Large 9L Steam Boiler
A single high-capacity 9L steam boiler with a sensitive pressure transducer for rapid recovery under heavy milk-drink demand, built to hold up through peak service on high-volume menus.

Fully Saturated Group Heads
Continuous water circulation from boiler to group maintains a consistent thermal baseline shot after shot, reducing temperature drift and keeping results repeatable across your team.

Volumetric Shot Programming
Program exact shot volumes per group for consistent, repeatable dosing across all drinks, users, and shifts.

Cool-Touch No-Burn Steam Wands with Lever-Operated Valves
Ergonomic lever-operated steam valves and cool-touch wands for safe, efficient high-volume milk texturing, designed for continuous bar use.

Lowered Profile for Barista-Customer Interaction
Reduced machine height opens up the sightline between barista and customer — a deliberate design choice by Ennio Berti that improves both workflow and the bar experience.

86mm Cup Clearance
Standard 86mm cup height accommodates most commercial glassware and cup formats without tray adjustment.

Polished AISI 304 Stainless Steel Construction
Full-polished stainless steel chassis, Italian-made in Milan.

R9 – What Makes It Special

The R9 is the only machine in Rocket's commercial lineup where each group gets its own 1.9L brew boiler. In practice, that means you can pull a light roast single-origin on one group and a dark blend on the other at the same time — each dialled in at its own exact temperature, with zero interference between them. That kind of per-group flexibility is rare at this price point. Saturated group heads keep every shot consistent from start to finish, and the large 9L steam boiler holds up through demanding milk-drink menus without recovery delays. Designed with a lower profile to open up the bar-to-customer sightline, the R9 is built to work as hard as the team behind it.

Who the R9 Is For

  • Specialty cafés and high-volume espresso bars serving 300–500+ drinks per day.
  • Multi-roaster concepts that need exact, independent brew temperatures dialled in per group.
  • Operations where multiple baristas each run their own group simultaneously.
  • Venues where per-group flexibility and precision matter more than a centralised boiler setup.
  • Coffee programs where the bar experience and machine aesthetic are both part of the brand.
