Shelter Point is distilling and bottling some of the most exciting single malt whiskies made anywhere. For the last decade, their take on single malt whisky has been a game-changer, raising eyebrows and glasses while winning accolades and the respect and admiration of some of the world’s leading whisky writers and aficionados.
This expression is named after Barrett Montfort, who founded the farm at Shelter Point. A true single-grain whisky, made from 100% barley, Montfort is grown, distilled, and bottled entirely at one location.
Nose: Dense, with vanilla, leather and fruit sweetness.
Palate: Creamy mouthfeel, Manuka honey and dark chocolate-covered raisins.
Finish: Long, with chocolate fudge, oak spices, and white pepper at the very end.
