Talisker Distillery was established at Carbost on the Isle of Skye off the west coast of Scotland in 1830. Soaking up its own reflection from Loch Harport one day yet fending off North Atlantic gales the next. Talisker is a Scottish Islands malt whisky distillery equipped with five stills and has retained its traditional five round wooden worm tubs. Visitors are welcome at the distillery visitor centre where tours of Talisker Distillery are available.
Opens on the nose with a sweetly smoked character – burnt home baking in style – with a soft leather quality. The palate is spicy running to waves of tar & sweet liquorice. More tar & leather on the long finish with dark chocolate & liquorice lingering.
