Taste
W.L. Weller 12 Year Bourbon - 12 Pack is a well-crafted wheat bourbon like no other. It is part of a highly coveted series named after William Larue Weller, to commemorate his family's legacy. Aged for a fine 12 years and bottled at the award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery, this splendid blend features a wheat mash bill that distinguishes it from other great bourbons. Rich and complex, it offers distinctive grainy notes combined with hints of cocoa dust and soft spices. The mid-palate reveals layers of wheat, cedar, and nuts, beautifully complemented by lanolin, almond, creamed corn, and toasty vanilla, making each sip a truly delightful experience.

History
W.L. Weller 12 Year Bourbon - 12 Pack is an award-winning twelve-year-old wheat bourbon produced with tradition in mind at the renowned Buffalo Trace distillery. This bourbon is part of a series that honors the Weller family, who immigrated from Germany to Maryland and established themselves as farmers and distillers in the 1740s. By the late 18th century, they had settled in Kentucky, where Daniel Weller, William Larue Weller's grandfather, purchased a distillery. William returned from the Mexican-American War to join the family business, eventually revolutionizing bourbon by introducing wheat as a secondary grain. This innovation created a smoother, sweeter profile, setting the foundation for future wheat bourbons. Pappy Van Winkle, a key figure in the brand's history, worked with Weller & Sons and played a pivotal role in its success. After Weller's passing in 1899, Pappy and Alex Farnsley acquired the company, leading to the establishment of Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Buffalo Trace acquired the brand in 1999, continuing to produce it with a nearly unchanged recipe, ensuring that the legacy of W.L. Weller endures in the bourbon community.
