Yamazaki 25 Year Old Mizunara is an extraordinary single malt, aged exclusively in Mizunara oak casks for a quarter of a century. On the nose, it opens with rich aromas of apricot compote, coconut, and warming sandalwood incense. The palate is refined yet complex, with bittersweet orange, creamy layers of vanilla and oriental herbs, and subtle spice. History
Crafted at Japan’s first commercial whisky distillery, founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the Yamazaki 25 Year Old Mizunara represents a milestone in Japanese whisky-making. Mizunara oak, native to Japan, is rare and notoriously difficult to work with due to its porous nature, but it imparts unique flavors of incense and exotic spices that define this release. This expression is the oldest Yamazaki aged entirely in Mizunara, embodying the distillery’s century-long dedication to innovation and craftsmanship. Meeting the standards for authentic Japanese whisky, it is distilled, matured, and bottled in Japan, solidifying its place as one of the world’s most coveted spirits.
