This Penelope Project X “Baked Apple Turnover” is another standout Southern Spirits single barrel selection, and one of the final Project X picks from our 2026 lineup.

Last year, Southern Spirits was one of the only accounts in the country to select all 9 Penelope Project X finishes, and this bottle is our second-to-last Project X selection of 2026.

We named this barrel “Baked Apple Turnover” because that is exactly what it brings to the glass — big baked apple on the palate, followed by a rich, dessert-like mouthfeel that reminds us of a warm apple turnover.

Expect a flavorful, layered pour with notes of baked apple, pastry crust, baking spice, vanilla, caramel, and a soft, rounded finish. It is sweet, rich, and extremely approachable, while still carrying the depth and uniqueness that makes Project X so fun to explore.
